About the Role

Our client is seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Freight Forwarder to join their operations team in Derby . This role is essential for managing the transportation of goods across various modes, including air, sea, and road, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery for clients. You will be responsible for coordinating shipments, managing documentation, and liaising with carriers, customs, and clients to facilitate the smooth movement of international and domestic freight. Key Responsibilities

• Arrange and manage the shipment of goods via air, sea, and road, optimizing routes and carriers.
• Prepare and process all necessary documentation, including bills of lading, customs declarations, and invoices.
• Communicate effectively with clients, overseas agents, and transport providers to ensure smooth transit.
• Track shipments and provide timely updates to clients and internal stakeholders regarding their status.
• Resolve any issues that arise during transit, such as delays, customs inspections, or damages.
• Negotiate rates with carriers and service providers to ensure competitive pricing and service levels.

Requirements

• Previous experience in freight forwarding, shipping, or international logistics.
• Good understanding of international trade regulations, customs procedures, and documentation requirements.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.
• Proficiency in using freight forwarding software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to multitask and manage multiple shipments simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong negotiation skills and problem-solving capabilities.
