Freight Forwarder

About the Role

Our client is seeking a knowledgeable and efficient Freight Forwarder to manage the movement of goods for their clients in Bristol . This hybrid role involves coordinating international and domestic shipments, handling all documentation, and ensuring timely and cost-effective transportation. You will act as the primary point of contact for clients, carriers, and customs brokers, navigating complex shipping regulations and logistics challenges. The ideal candidate is proactive, possesses excellent communication skills, and has a strong understanding of the global logistics landscape.

Key Responsibilities

• Arrange and manage the transportation of goods via air, sea, and land, ensuring competitive pricing and reliable service.
• Prepare and process all necessary shipping documentation, including bills of lading, customs declarations, and invoices.
• Communicate effectively with clients, providing updates on shipment status and addressing inquiries promptly.
• Liaise with customs brokers, airlines, shipping lines, and trucking companies to facilitate smooth transit.
• Resolve any issues or complications that arise during transit, such as delays, damages, or customs inspections.
• Maintain accurate records of shipments, costs, and client interactions within the freight management system.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Freight Forwarder or in a similar international logistics role.
• In-depth knowledge of shipping regulations, customs procedures, and incoterms.
• Strong negotiation skills for securing competitive freight rates.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in freight forwarding software and standard office applications.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships.
