About the Role
Our client is looking for a diligent and experienced Freight Forwarder to manage the transportation of goods across international borders. This role is crucial for ensuring that shipments are handled efficiently, cost-effectively, and in full compliance with all customs and transportation regulations. You will be the primary point of contact for clients and carriers, managing all aspects of the shipping process from booking to delivery. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of global logistics networks, strong negotiation skills, and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service. This is a hands-on role within our busy logistics hub.
Key Responsibilities
- Arrange and book shipments via air, sea, and land, selecting the most appropriate and cost-effective carriers.
- Prepare and process all required shipping documentation, including customs declarations and export/import licenses.
- Communicate effectively with clients, overseas agents, and transportation providers to ensure smooth transit.
- Track shipments in real-time and provide timely updates to all relevant parties.
- Resolve any issues or discrepancies that may arise during the transportation process.
- Stay up-to-date with international trade regulations, customs laws, and shipping industry changes.
Requirements
- Proven experience working as a Freight Forwarder or in a related international shipping role.
- In-depth knowledge of international trade, customs procedures, and shipping regulations.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in using freight forwarding software and standard office applications.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
