In this role, you will deliver engaging, tailored functional skills sessions in English and Mathematics to Key Stage 3 and/or Key Stage 4 students who benefit from a supportive, non-traditional learning environment. Collaborative Working: Work closely with support staff, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to ensure a holistic approach to student welfare and academic development.

Candidate Requirements

Qualifications: A teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, CertEd, QTLS, QTS) or a strong degree background with proven tutoring/teaching experience. Specialist subject knowledge in English, Maths, or both is essential.

Experience: Previous experience working within an Alternative Provision (AP), Pupil Referral Unit (PRU), SEN school, or delivering functional skills to disaffected learners is highly desirable.

Attributes: High levels of resilience, patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for transforming the lives of young people who struggle within mainstream education.

Compliance: Must hold (or be willing to apply for) an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service, and provide professional references covering the last 2 years.
