Fundraising Manager (Database & Insight)

Job Title: Fundraising Manager (Database & Insight)

Location: London/Hybrid - Tuesdays in the office

Salary: £44,100.00 per annum

Weekly Hours: 35

Reference: YMC

About Us

YMCA is the oldest and largest youth charity in the world, founded in England in 1844. Today it's a global movement supporting more than 58 million people across 119 countries. In England & Wales, we operate as a federation of 80 local YMCAs, working independently to help young people belong, contribute and thrive in their communities. YMCA England & Wales acts as the national council - supporting local YMCAs, developing national programmes, and championing young people's voices with government.

We are launching our most ambitious fundraising goal yet: 10,000 new homes for young people by 2030. Working with local YMCAs, we will build accommodation across the country, helping young people move towards independence. This role sits at the heart of that ambition.

About the Opportunity

This is a new role and a rare chance to build something from the ground up. As Fundraising Manager (Database & Insight), you will lead on database & insight area within the Data, Insight and Supporter Experience team, shaping the systems and data that power fundraising across YMCA England & Wales. You will decide how it is built. You will:

• Lead and develop the Database Team
• Set the direction for our CRM, turning fundraisers' needs into practical solutions and leading each change from scoping to training
• Build automated Power BI reporting that gives colleagues the insight to make better decisions
• Manage suppliers and act as the senior point of contact for CRM queries

The role is full-time (35 hours a week), London-based with hybrid working (Office on Tuesdays and ad hoc other days), and reports to the Assistant Head of Fundraising (DISE).

About You

You have proven experience of managing and developing CRM systems, ideally in a charity, and of leading a technical or data-focused team. You can build reports and dashboards in Power BI or similar tools, and you turn business needs into technical solutions. You explain complex ideas clearly to non-technical colleagues, manage competing priorities, and care about accuracy.

You are proactive, collaborative and always looking to improve. Experience of Raiser's Edge NXT, GDPR and Gift Aid compliance, and delivering training is desirable but not essential.

This is your opportunity to help a national charity understand its supporters.

Our recruitment process is anonymised and candidates' names are hidden. We welcome and encourage job applications from people of all backgrounds. Safer recruitment is important to us and the successful applicant will be asked to provide two references. They will also be required to complete a safeguarding self-declaration, safeguarding training and undertake a DBS check.
