About the Role
Our client, a dynamic player in the Arts & Entertainment industry, is seeking a talented Game Environment Artist to contribute to visually stunning game worlds in Portsmouth . You will be responsible for crafting immersive and detailed 3D environments that bring virtual worlds to life, working closely with level designers and art directors to achieve the project's artistic vision. This role is perfect for an artist passionate about creating believable and engaging spaces that enhance the player's experience. You will leverage cutting-edge tools and techniques to build breathtaking digital landscapes.
Key Responsibilities
- Create high-quality 3D environment assets, including terrain, buildings, props, and foliage, using industry-standard software.
- Build and implement game levels within a game engine (e.g., Unreal Engine, Unity), ensuring optimal performance and visual fidelity.
- Collaborate with level designers to define environmental layouts, ensuring gameplay flow and aesthetic appeal.
- Texture, light, and optimize environment assets for real-time rendering.
- Ensure artistic consistency and adherence to the project's style guide and technical requirements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any visual or technical issues related to environments during development.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a 3D Environment Artist in the games industry, with a portfolio showcasing strong environment art skills.
- Proficiency in 3D modeling software such as Maya, 3ds Max, or Blender.
- Expertise in texturing tools like Substance Painter/Designer and Photoshop.
- Familiarity with modern game engines (Unreal Engine, Unity) and their environment creation pipelines.
- Solid understanding of PBR (Physically Based Rendering) workflows.
- Ability to interpret concept art and technical specifications to create compelling game environments.
