About the Role

Our client is looking for a proactive and thorough Games Tester to join their fully remote quality assurance team on a contract basis. This role is pivotal in ensuring the highest standards of quality for their cutting-edge game releases. You will be responsible for meticulously testing games, identifying and documenting defects, and collaborating with developers to resolve issues before launch. Operating entirely remotely, you'll be an integral part of a collaborative virtual environment, contributing directly to the player experience. Key Responsibilities

• Execute comprehensive test cases and ad-hoc testing to uncover bugs and gameplay inconsistencies.
• Record and report software defects with detailed steps to reproduce, using a chosen bug tracking system.
• Verify that game features and functionality align with design documents and user requirements.
• Conduct performance and stability testing to ensure a smooth player experience across different hardware configurations.
• Provide constructive feedback to the development team regarding game balance, usability, and overall polish.
• Participate in daily stand-up meetings and contribute to team discussions via video conferencing and chat platforms.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience as a Games Tester or in a similar QA role, with a portfolio of tested projects.
• Strong understanding of testing methodologies and the ability to create effective test cases.
• Proficiency with bug tracking software (e.g., Jira, Bugzilla) and test management tools.
• Excellent analytical skills and a meticulous eye for detail.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills for working within a distributed team.
• Must have a reliable internet connection and a suitable home office setup for remote work in the UK .
