Are you an experienced English teacher or tutor looking for flexible 1:1 work? Prospero Teaching are recruiting GCSE English Tutors across Halton!

The Opportunity

We are currently seeking confident and enthusiastic GCSE English Tutors to provide personalised tuition to secondary-aged learners.

You’ll support students with their English studies, helping them identify areas for development, improve their subject knowledge and build confidence ahead of their examinations.

The role offers flexibility and is ideal for teachers or tutors who enjoy working closely with individual learners.

Position Details:

• Location: Halton
• Position: GCSE English Tutor
• Hours: 5-15 hours per week
• Start Date: September 2026
• Duration: Ongoing

Experience, Training and Qualifications:

• Experience delivering GCSE English
• Strong knowledge of the GCSE English curriculum
• QTS, PGCE or equivalent desirable
• Previous 1:1 tutoring experience advantageous
• Ability to adapt sessions to individual learning needs
• Excellent communication skills

To be eligible for this role, you must:

• Hold the Right to Work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced DBS certificate registered with the Update Service or be willing to obtain one
• Provide two professional child-related references
