Adapting teaching methods, resources and session structures to suit the learner's individual abilities, interests and learning style.

Breaking down complex concepts into manageable steps to encourage understanding and engagement.

Supporting a young person who may face barriers to mainstream education, including anxiety, low confidence, school avoidance or disengagement.

Responding calmly and consistently to challenging behaviour, using appropriate positive behaviour strategies and de-escalation techniques where necessary.

Building a trusting professional relationship while maintaining clear boundaries and expectations.

Encouraging confidence, independence, resilience and positive learning habits.

Creating a calm, structured and supportive learning environment.

Monitoring progress and providing feedback to parents/carers and other relevant professionals where appropriate.

Working collaboratively with those involved in the young person's education and support.

Maintaining appropriate records, confidentiality and safeguarding procedures.
