General Operative – Trafford Park- M50 1RE

Location: Trafford Park, Manchester Pay Rate: £14.00 per hour (PAYE) Hours: 37.5 hours per week Shifts: Rotating day and afternoon shifts, Monday to Friday

The Role

We are currently recruiting for a General Operative to join our client's manufacturing team based in Trafford Park.

This is a varied, hands-on role involving general production, material processing, assembly and packing duties. The successful candidate will support day-to-day manufacturing operations, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to the required standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Operating a range of production and processing machinery.

• Assisting with material and swarf processing, including operating briquette machinery.

• Carrying out general labouring duties, machine cleaning and coolant monitoring.

• Marking and identifying components using marking machinery.

• Packing finished components in line with work instructions.

• Carrying out basic assembly work using hand tools.

• Assisting with deburring and finishing machined components.

• Completing production paperwork and accurately recording material usage.

• Maintaining a clean and tidy working environment.

• Following all health and safety procedures.

Skills & Experience

• Previous manufacturing or engineering experience is desirable.

• A basic understanding of engineering processes and practices.

• Good practical skills and the ability to use hand tools.

• Ability to follow instructions and work accurately.

• A logical approach to problem-solving.

• Reliable, hardworking and motivated, with a good sense of urgency.

• A strong commitment to health and safety.

Working Hours – Rotating Shifts

Day Shift:

• Monday – Friday: 06:00 – 14:00

Afternoon Shift:

• Monday – Thursday: 13:45 – 22:15

• Friday: 13:00 – 18:30
