Geological Technician

About the Role

Our client is looking for a detail-oriented Geological Technician to support their exploration and operational teams in the Stoke-on-Trent area. In this role, you will assist geologists with field sampling, core logging, sample preparation, and basic data entry. Key Responsibilities

• Assist geologists in collecting and documenting geological samples from exploration sites.
• Perform core logging, describing rock types, mineralization, and structural features.
• Prepare geological samples for laboratory analysis, including crushing and grinding.
• Maintain accurate and organized records of field data, samples, and laboratory results.
• Operate and maintain basic geological field and laboratory equipment.
• Provide general support to the geological team as required for projects in Stoke-on-Trent .

Requirements

• Associate's degree or equivalent qualification in Geology, Earth Science, or a related field.
• Previous experience in a geological or laboratory support role is advantageous.
• Familiarity with geological terminology and basic rock identification.
• Proficiency in data entry and basic computer applications (e.g., Excel).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures accurately.
• Willingness to work both in the field and in a laboratory setting in Staffordshire .
