Geologist - Exploration

About the Role

Our client is looking for a talented Geologist to join their exploration team in Leeds, West Yorkshire . You will be responsible for identifying and evaluating new hydrocarbon prospects, integrating geological data from various sources to build subsurface models. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to interpret complex geological information to guide exploration strategies. You will collaborate with geophysicists and reservoir engineers to assess the potential of new ventures and contribute to the company's strategic growth in the global Oil & Gas market, working in a supportive environment that values innovation and scientific rigor.

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret seismic data, well logs, and core samples to delineate geological structures and reservoir potential.
• Develop and maintain 3D geological models for exploration and appraisal projects.
• Perform prospectivity mapping and risk assessment for potential hydrocarbon plays.
• Collaborate with geophysicists to integrate seismic interpretations and geological models.
• Contribute to the planning and execution of exploration drilling programs.
• Prepare technical presentations and reports for management and joint venture partners.

Requirements

• Degree in Geology or Earth Sciences.
• 3-5 years of experience in exploration geology , preferably within the Oil & Gas sector.
• Proficiency in geological software such as Petrel, Kingdom, or similar.
• Strong understanding of structural geology, stratigraphy, and sedimentology.
• Excellent data analysis and interpretation skills.
