Geologist - Exploration

About the Role

Our client is seeking a motivated and skilled Geologist with a focus on exploration to join their team near Cambridge . This role is pivotal in identifying and evaluating new mineral resource opportunities. You will be responsible for conducting geological mapping, analyzing subsurface data, and planning exploration drilling programs. Your insights will guide strategic decisions regarding resource acquisition and development, contributing significantly to the future growth of the company within the mining sector . This position involves a combination of desk-based analysis and field exploration.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct geological mapping and data collection in exploration areas.
• Analyze geophysical, geochemical, and drilling data to identify potential mineral deposits.
• Develop and manage exploration targets and drilling programs.
• Prepare detailed geological reports, resource estimates, and presentations for management.
• Collaborate with geotechnical engineers and mining engineers on project viability.
• Stay current with advancements in exploration techniques and technologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geology, Earth Science, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in mineral exploration geology.
• Proficiency in geological software, GIS, and data analysis tools.
• Strong understanding of exploration methodologies and deposit modeling.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid setting, supporting remote analysis and on-site fieldwork.
