Geophysical Data Analyst

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Geophysical Data Analyst to join their remote-first team, contributing to the exploration and analysis of subsurface geological data. This role is pivotal in interpreting seismic, well log, and other geophysical data to identify potential hydrocarbon reserves and understand subsurface structures. You will work closely with geoscientists and engineers globally, leveraging advanced computational tools and analytical techniques. This position is ideal for an expert analyst who thrives in a distributed team environment and is passionate about unlocking the insights hidden within complex geophysical datasets, driving exploration strategy from anywhere.

Key Responsibilities

• Process, interpret, and analyze large volumes of seismic , gravity, and magnetic data.
• Integrate various geophysical datasets with geological and well data for comprehensive subsurface modeling.
• Utilize specialized software for data visualization, interpretation, and attribute analysis.
• Identify and delineate potential exploration targets and quantify associated risks and uncertainties.
• Generate high-quality reports, maps, and presentations to communicate findings to technical and management teams.
• Contribute to the development and application of new geophysical interpretation techniques and workflows.

Requirements

• Master's degree or PhD in Geophysics, Geology, or a related earth science discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in geophysical data analysis , with a strong focus on seismic interpretation.
• Proficiency with industry-standard geophysical software packages (e.g., Petrel, Kingdom, IHS Markit).
• Strong understanding of seismic acquisition, processing, and interpretation principles.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote , global team setting.
• Excellent data management and visualization skills.
