About the Role
Our client is seeking a meticulous and skilled Geophysical Data Analyst to join their research and development team in Cambridge . This role is essential for processing, interpreting, and analysing large volumes of geophysical data to support exploration and production activities in the Oil & Gas sector . You will work with cutting-edge technology and collaborate closely with geologists and reservoir engineers to extract valuable insights from seismic and other geophysical datasets. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to scientific advancement in a world-renowned hub for innovation in the East of England .
Key Responsibilities
- Process, quality control, and interpret geophysical data, primarily seismic surveys.
- Utilize specialized software for data processing, inversion, and attribute analysis.
- Collaborate with geologists and reservoir engineers to integrate geophysical data into subsurface models.
- Generate reports and visualizations to communicate findings and recommendations.
- Stay updated on new technologies and methodologies in geophysical data analysis.
- Assist in the planning and execution of geophysical data acquisition campaigns.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geophysics, Physics, or a related quantitative science.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in processing and interpreting seismic data .
- Proficiency in geophysical software packages (e.g., Kingdom, Petrel, HampsonRussell).
- Strong understanding of seismic principles, data acquisition, and processing workflows.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and computational skills.
