Our client seeks a skilled Geophysical Data Analyst to join their exploration team, supporting projects near Sunderland . This role is crucial for interpreting complex seismic and geophysical data to identify potential hydrocarbon resources. You will collaborate with geologists and reservoir engineers to refine exploration strategies and de-risk prospects, playing a vital role in the discovery and development of energy reserves. Key Responsibilities
- Process, interpret, and analyze seismic, gravity, and magnetic data.
- Generate geophysical maps, models, and reports to support exploration and appraisal activities.
- Integrate geophysical data with geological and well data to build comprehensive subsurface models.
- Utilize advanced software for data visualization, interpretation, and inversion.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate exploration opportunities and provide technical insights.
- Stay abreast of new technologies and methodologies in geophysical data analysis.
Requirements
- Degree in Geophysics, Earth Science, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Proven experience in geophysical data analysis, particularly within the oil and gas sector .
- Proficiency with geophysical software packages (e.g., HampsonRussell, OpendTect, Kingdom Suite).
- Strong understanding of seismic acquisition, processing, and interpretation principles.
- Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently in a remote setting.
