About the Role
Our client is seeking a talented Geophysicist to join their exploration team located in Brighton . This role is integral to the company's success, focusing on the acquisition, processing, and interpretation of seismic data to identify and delineate subsurface hydrocarbon resources. You will work closely with geologists and reservoir engineers to build a comprehensive understanding of the subsurface geology and contribute to exploration strategies. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a skilled geophysicist to apply cutting-edge techniques in the dynamic Oil & Gas industry .
Key Responsibilities
- Process and interpret 2D and 3D seismic data to identify geological structures and stratigraphic traps.
- Perform seismic attribute analysis and inversion to understand reservoir properties.
- Collaborate with geologists to integrate geophysical data with geological models.
- Evaluate potential exploration targets and contribute to prospect risk assessments.
- Work with third-party vendors for seismic data acquisition and processing oversight.
- Stay abreast of advancements in geophysical technologies and methodologies.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in geophysical interpretation within the Oil & Gas exploration sector.
- Proficiency with industry-standard geophysical software (e.g., Petrel, Kingdom, HampsonRussell).
- Strong understanding of seismic data processing techniques and principles.
- Experience with seismic inversion and quantitative interpretation methods is advantageous.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail.
- Bachelor's degree in Geophysics, Geology, or a related Earth Science field; Master's degree preferred.
