About the Role
Our client seeks an experienced Geophysicist to join their exploration and development team based in Belfast . This role focuses on interpreting seismic and other geophysical data to identify and delineate hydrocarbon prospects and reservoirs. You will be a key contributor to subsurface understanding, working with geologists and reservoir engineers to integrate geophysical insights into project workflows. This position offers a hybrid working model, allowing for collaboration and focused individual work.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and interpret 2D and 3D seismic data to map subsurface structures and stratigraphy.
- Integrate seismic data with well logs, core data, and other geological information.
- Perform seismic attribute analysis and inversion to characterize reservoir properties.
- Contribute to prospect risking and resource estimation.
- Utilize various geophysical software packages for data analysis and interpretation.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to support exploration and development initiatives.
Requirements
- Master's degree or Ph.D. in Geophysics or a related geoscience discipline.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in seismic data interpretation within the oil and gas industry .
- Proficiency in industry-standard interpretation software (e.g., Petrel, Kingdom Suite, HampsonRussell).
- Strong understanding of seismic acquisition, processing, and geological principles.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively.
