Geotechnical Civil Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Geotechnical Civil Engineer to join their fully remote team, contributing to diverse and impactful projects across the UK. This role focuses on the investigation, analysis, and design related to the ground conditions for a variety of infrastructure and building developments. You will play a critical role in ensuring the stability and safety of foundations, earthworks, and underground structures, working from your chosen location. Key Responsibilities

• Plan and manage geotechnical investigations , including site characterisation and soil/rock testing.
• Perform detailed analysis of soil mechanics, slope stability, foundation design, and groundwater flow.
• Develop geotechnical design reports, recommendations, and specifications for foundations, retaining walls, and earthworks.
• Utilise specialised geotechnical software for modelling and analysis.
• Collaborate with remote project teams, clients, and contractors to ensure the successful integration of geotechnical designs into overall project plans.
• Conduct risk assessments related to ground conditions and advise on mitigation strategies.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Geotechnical Engineering.
• Proven experience in geotechnical engineering , including site investigation and design.
• Proficiency with geotechnical software packages (e.g., PLAXIS, GeoStudio, FLAC).
• Strong understanding of soil mechanics, rock mechanics, and foundation engineering principles.
• Excellent report writing and communication skills, adapted for effective remote collaboration.
• Knowledge of relevant UK standards and best practices in geotechnical engineering.
