About the Role
Our client is seeking a knowledgeable Geotechnical Civil Engineer to contribute to their diverse range of projects in Leeds . This role focuses on the investigation of ground conditions and the design of foundations, earthworks, and slope stability measures. You will be integral in assessing ground risks and providing sound engineering solutions to ensure the stability and safety of our infrastructure developments. The position offers a blend of office-based design work and site-based investigations, providing a dynamic and varied career path. Key Responsibilities
- Plan and supervise geotechnical investigations , including site reconnaissance and sampling.
- Analyze soil and rock mechanics data to assess ground conditions and risks.
- Design foundations (e.g., shallow, deep), retaining walls, and earthworks.
- Prepare geotechnical reports, design recommendations, and construction drawings.
- Provide expert advice on slope stability, soil improvement, and groundwater control.
- Liaise with clients and construction teams to ensure effective implementation of geotechnical solutions.
Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Geotechnical Engineering.
- 2+ years of experience in geotechnical design and site investigation.
- Proficiency in geotechnical software such as GeoStudio or similar.
- Solid understanding of soil mechanics, rock mechanics, and foundation engineering principles.
- Experience with ground investigation techniques and laboratory testing interpretation.
- Ability to travel to sites as needed and work effectively in a hybrid model.
