About the Role
Our client is looking for a proactive Geotechnical Engineer to join their established team, working remotely. This role is integral to the success of numerous construction and infrastructure projects, where you will provide expert advice on ground conditions, foundation design, and earthworks. You will utilize advanced analytical techniques and contribute to the safe and sustainable development of projects across the UK. This position is ideal for an experienced geotechnical specialist who thrives in a remote environment and is keen to apply their expertise to a diverse range of challenging sites and ground conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and supervise ground investigations, including site reconnaissance, trial pits, and borehole drilling.
- Analyze site investigation data and prepare detailed geotechnical reports.
- Provide recommendations for foundation design (shallow and deep foundations), slope stability, and earthworks.
- Develop scope of works for specialist subcontractors and manage their field activities remotely.
- Liaise with clients, designers, and contractors to provide technical support and solutions.
- Ensure compliance with relevant geotechnical standards and safety regulations.
Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- At least 5 years of experience in geotechnical engineering.
- Proficiency in geotechnical software for analysis (e.g., Plaxis, GeoStudio).
- Strong understanding of soil mechanics and foundation engineering principles.
- Experience in interpreting site investigation data and writing comprehensive reports.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective remote collaboration.
