Geotechnical Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled Geotechnical Engineer to join their team in Bradford , working a hybrid model that combines office-based tasks with site visits and remote flexibility. This role focuses on the investigation, analysis, and design of groundworks and foundation systems for a wide range of civil engineering projects. You will be responsible for assessing ground conditions, providing expert advice on soil mechanics, and developing practical engineering solutions to complex geotechnical challenges.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and manage geotechnical investigations, including site surveys and soil testing.
• Analyze soil data and perform calculations for foundation design, slope stability, and earthworks.
• Prepare detailed geotechnical reports, specifications, and design recommendations.
• Provide technical support to project teams during the construction phase, addressing any ground-related issues.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant geotechnical codes, standards, and health and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with other engineering disciplines and clients to integrate geotechnical solutions into overall project plans.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in geotechnical engineering.
• Proficiency in geotechnical software such as GeoStudio, PLAXIS, or similar.
• Strong understanding of soil mechanics, foundation engineering, and site investigation techniques.
• Experience with hybrid working models and willingness to travel for site-based work.
• Excellent report writing and communication skills.
