Geothermal Energy Specialist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Geothermal Energy Specialist to spearhead the development and implementation of groundbreaking geothermal projects based out of our Edinburgh office. This role is critical for advancing our renewable energy portfolio, focusing on the exploration, assessment, and utilisation of the Earth's heat. You will be deeply involved in technical feasibility studies, project design, and regulatory compliance, contributing directly to Scotland's clean energy future. This position requires significant on-site presence for field assessments and collaborative work with our engineering and geology teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct feasibility studies and site assessments for potential geothermal energy projects.
• Develop conceptual designs for geothermal power plants and direct use applications.
• Analyse subsurface data, including geological surveys and well logs, to evaluate geothermal resource potential.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with all relevant permits and environmental standards.
• Collaborate with drilling and construction teams to oversee project execution and technical implementation.

Requirements

• Degree in Geosciences, Earth Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in geothermal exploration , resource assessment, or project development.
• Strong understanding of subsurface geology, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics.
• Familiarity with geothermal drilling techniques and power plant technologies.
• Excellent analytical skills and ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
