Golf Course Superintendent

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Golf Course Superintendent to manage the meticulous upkeep and development of their prestigious golf course facilities in London . This is a critical role responsible for ensuring the highest standards of turf quality, agronomic practices, and environmental stewardship. You will lead a team of groundskeepers, implementing innovative solutions to maintain an exceptional playing surface that meets the expectations of elite golfers and members, contributing directly to the club's reputation and success.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of golf course maintenance, including turfgrass management , irrigation, fertilization, and pest control.
• Develop and implement annual agronomic plans, budgeting effectively for all operational expenses.
• Manage, train, and motivate a team of groundskeeping staff, fostering a culture of safety and efficiency.
• Operate and maintain all golf course maintenance equipment , ensuring it is in good working order and replaced as needed.
• Ensure compliance with all environmental regulations and implement sustainable course management practices.
• Liaise with club management and committees to report on course conditions and planned activities.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Golf Course Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent.
• Degree or Diploma in Horticulture, Agronomy, Turfgrass Management, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of turfgrass physiology, soil science, and integrated pest management techniques.
• Experience with irrigation systems, drainage, and golf course construction/renovation projects.
• Proficiency in using modern golf course maintenance equipment and software for planning and record-keeping.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
