About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and dedicated Golf Course Superintendent to oversee the maintenance and development of a prestigious golf course in the heart of London . This vital role involves managing all aspects of turfgrass care, course conditioning, and horticultural operations to ensure an exceptional playing experience for members and guests. You will lead a team of grounds staff, implement cutting-edge agronomic practices, and manage budgets effectively. This is a hands-on position requiring a passion for golf course management and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of course presentation and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive agronomic plans for all turf areas, including greens, tees, fairways, and roughs.
• Supervise, train, and motivate a team of groundskeepers, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to safety protocols.
• Manage irrigation systems, pest and disease control programs, and fertilizer applications using environmentally sound methods.
• Operate and maintain a range of golf course maintenance equipment, ensuring it is in optimal working condition.
• Monitor course conditions daily, making necessary adjustments to mowing, rolling, and hole-cutting procedures to enhance playability.
• Maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities, chemical applications, and budget expenditures.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Golf Course Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent.
• A degree or diploma in Agronomy, Horticulture, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of turfgrass science, soil science, and integrated pest management (IPM).
• Experience with budgeting, staff management, and equipment operation.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Membership in relevant professional organizations is highly desirable.
