Graduate Accountant - Full Time Ballymena
This role offers an excellent foundation for an aspiring accountant looking to develop their career within a successful manufacturing organisation. You will gain hands-on experience across a wide range of finance activities while working alongside experienced professionals in a supportive and collaborative environment.
- Location: Ballymena Area
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm (40 hours per week)
- Department: Finance & Accounts
- Reports to: Finance Manager
The Opportunity
- Our client, a well-established and successful manufacturing business, is seeking a motivated Graduate Accountant to join their Finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent accounting or finance graduate to begin their career within a fast-paced commercial environment, gaining exposure to management accounting, financial reporting, costing and business analysis.
- The successful candidate will support the Finance Manager in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports and assisting with internal and external audits, while developing valuable experience across a broad range of accounting functions.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with month-end and year-end accounting processes.
- Prepare and post journals, including accruals, prepayments and other adjustments.
- Support the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports.
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
- Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts and general ledger accounts.
- Support the analysis of material, labour and overhead costs.
- Assist with production costing activities and review manufacturing variances.
- Support budgeting, forecasting and cash flow reporting processes.
- Assist with payroll reviews and expense analysis as required.
- Support VAT, tax reporting and other statutory compliance requirements.
- Prepare documentation and data for internal and external audits.
Criteria:
- Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
- Strong understanding of fundamental accounting principles.
- Highly numerate with excellent attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
