Graduate Junior Accountant

About the Role

Our client is looking for a diligent and enthusiastic Graduate Junior Accountant to join their finance team in Portsmouth . This role provides an excellent foundation for a career in accounting, offering hands-on experience in financial reporting, bookkeeping, and reconciliation. You will work closely with senior accountants, gaining exposure to various aspects of financial management. This position offers a flexible hybrid working arrangement, allowing for a balance between in-office collaboration and remote work, supporting a productive and engaging work environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing monthly and annual financial statements.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and ledgers.
• Perform bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Support the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulations.

Requirements

• A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and practices.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential.
• Strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Good communication and organizational abilities.
• Willingness to learn and pursue professional accounting qualifications (e.g., ACCA, CIMA).
