We are looking for an ambitious Engineering Graduate / Junior Technical Sales professional to join our sales team and develop a successful career within the specialist perimeter security and physical security sector.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has combined an engineering degree with initial sales experience and is now looking to move into a technically focused, consultative B2B sales role.

You do not need previous experience in perimeter security. What matters most is your engineering background, commercial ability, enthusiasm for sales and willingness to learn.

You will receive product and industry training and develop the technical and commercial knowledge required to become a successful Technical Sales Consultant.

The role involves promoting and selling a comprehensive portfolio of specialist security solutions, including security gates, automated gates, barriers, bollards, road blockers, turnstiles, access control equipment and associated perimeter security products.

The Role

This is a field-based sales position covering an assigned UK territory. You will work with distributors, installers, contractors, consultants, specifiers and end users, developing existing relationships while identifying and winning new business.

The role will suit someone who enjoys understanding how technical products work, solving customer problems and turning technical requirements into commercial opportunities.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Promote and sell perimeter security products and technical solutions.

• Develop existing customer relationships and identify new business opportunities.

• Build relationships with distributors, installers, contractors, consultants, specifiers and end users.

• Develop and manage a proactive sales plan for your assigned territory.

• Understand customer and project requirements and recommend appropriate technical solutions.

• Review technical drawings, specifications, tender documentation and project requirements.

• Prepare quotations, tenders and technical product proposals.

• Develop product specifications and influence projects from an early stage.

• Manage your sales pipeline and maintain accurate sales forecasts.

• Work towards agreed sales, margin, revenue and new business targets.

• Monitor competitor activity, pricing and market developments.

• Attend customer meetings, exhibitions, conferences and industry events.

• Work closely with internal teams and Head Office to maximise commercial opportunities.

About You

We are particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate a combination of technical education and commercial/sales experience.

Our ideal candidate will be an Engineering Graduate with approximately one year's experience in sales, business development, account management or another commercial/customer-facing role.

You may have studied Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechatronics, Systems Engineering, Building Services Engineering or another relevant engineering discipline.

You may currently be working in a graduate sales, engineering sales, business development, technical sales or customer-facing commercial role and be looking for the next step in your career.

You will ideally have:

• A degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.

• Approximately 1 year's experience in sales, business development, account management or another commercial/customer-facing role.

• A genuine interest in developing a career in technical B2B sales.

• Strong communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.

• A commercially minded and target-driven approach.

• The ability to understand technical information and communicate it clearly to customers.

• An analytical, practical and problem-solving approach.

• The ability to understand customer requirements and identify appropriate solutions.

• Good organisational and time-management skills.

• The motivation to work independently and develop a geographical sales territory.
