Build Your Career in B2B Sales with a Successful Specialist HVAC Business

Are you a recent graduate looking to start your career in professional B2B sales?

Would you like to join an established business where you can develop valuable commercial skills, gain specialist industry knowledge and build long-term relationships with trade and business customers?

We're recruiting a Graduate Trainee Sales Executive to join a successful specialist HVAC wholesaler in Nottingham. This is an opportunity to become part of an experienced, close-knit team where you'll learn how the business operates, develop your sales skills and play an active role in supporting customers and generating new business.

With a competitive starting salary, annual profit share and the opportunity to gain hands-on commercial experience from day one, this position would suit a graduate looking to establish a long-term career within internal sales and account management.

About the Business

Our client is an established specialist HVAC wholesaler supplying heating, ventilation and air conditioning products to trade and commercial customers across the industry.

The business has built a strong reputation through its product knowledge, customer service and long-standing relationships with customers and suppliers. Having experienced significant growth in recent years, the Nottingham operation continues to develop its customer base and strengthen its position in the market.

As part of a larger UK group, the business combines the stability and resources of an established organisation with the friendly, close-knit working environment of a local team.

You'll be joining experienced colleagues who understand the industry and its customers, giving you the opportunity to develop your knowledge and confidence as you establish yourself within the business.

The Role

This is a commercially focused trainee position where you'll learn the fundamentals of B2B sales, customer account management and specialist wholesale distribution.

Working alongside the internal sales team, you'll gradually develop your understanding of the products, customers and sales processes, taking on increasing responsibility as your knowledge and confidence grow.

You'll gain experience handling customer enquiries, preparing quotations, building relationships and proactively identifying opportunities to develop sales.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Learning about the company's HVAC products, customers and wider industry

• Building relationships with existing trade and commercial customers

• Handling incoming sales enquiries via telephone and email

• Preparing quotations and following opportunities through to order

• Proactively contacting customers to identify new sales opportunities

• Supporting the development of existing customer accounts

• Working closely with external sales colleagues to support customer requirements

• Developing your commercial awareness, product knowledge and customer service skills

• Supporting the wider team with day-to-day sales activities

As you develop your experience, you'll have the opportunity to take greater ownership of customer relationships and become an important part of the internal sales operation.

About You

We're looking for a motivated, personable graduate who enjoys working with people and is keen to develop their skills within a professional sales environment.

This opportunity would suit someone who:

• Has recently graduated in any discipline

• Enjoys speaking with people and building relationships

• Has strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Is commercially minded and interested in developing a career in B2B sales

• Is organised, proactive and willing to take responsibility

• Has a positive attitude, strong work ethic and willingness to learn

• Is comfortable working as part of a team in a busy office environment

• Wants to build a long-term career within sales and account management

Previous experience in sales, customer service, retail or another customer-facing environment would be beneficial, although this isn't essential. No previous HVAC or technical product knowledge is required. Your attitude, enthusiasm and willingness to learn are far more important than your existing industry experience.

What's on Offer?

• £29,000 - £31,000 starting salary, depending on experience

• Annual Profit Share Bonus

• 25 days’ holiday plus Bank Holidays

• Monday to Friday working (8:00am - 5:00pm)

• Opportunity to develop valuable B2B sales and account management experience

• Hands-on learning alongside experienced sales colleagues

• The chance to develop specialist knowledge within the HVAC industry

• An established customer base and supportive, close-knit team

• Long-term career stability within a successful and growing business
