Contract: Temporary - 8 Weeks
Hours: 36 hours per week
Working Hours: Monday-Thursday 8:00am-4:00pm Friday 8:00am-2:30pm

About the Role

We are currently recruiting for a Gravedigger / Seasonal Gardener to join a local Council team on an 8-week temporary contract.This is a practical, outdoor role suited to someone who enjoys working outdoors, is physically fit, reliable, and takes pride in maintaining high standards across council grounds and cemetery areas.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out grave digging duties safely and respectfully.
• Undertake general grounds maintenance and gardening.
• Operate garden and grounds maintenance machinery.
• Grass cutting, strimming, hedge maintenance and general landscaping duties.
• Maintain and tidy the cemetery and council grounds.
• Carry out cleaning duties and ensure areas are kept clean and presentable.
• Follow all relevant health & safety procedures.
• Work as part of a team while also being able to work independently.
• Carry out other reasonable duties as required.

• Hardworking, reliable and physically fit.
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Respectful and professional when carrying out cemetery duties.
• Experienced in using garden and grounds maintenance machinery.
• Able to follow instructions and health & safety procedures.
• A good team player with a positive attitude.

Requirements

• Previous experience in grounds maintenance, gardening, landscaping or a similar outdoor role.
• Experience using garden maintenance machinery is essential.
• No driving licence required.
