Grid Integration Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Grid Integration Engineer to join their expanding team in Manchester . This role is critical for ensuring the stable and efficient integration of renewable energy sources and energy storage systems into the national grid. You will be responsible for the technical aspects of grid connection applications, system studies, and compliance with grid codes and regulations. Key Responsibilities

• Perform grid connection studies, including load flow, short circuit, and stability analysis for renewable energy and storage projects.
• Develop and review technical specifications for grid connection equipment and systems.
• Ensure compliance with relevant grid codes , standards, and regulations (e.g., ENA G99, G100).
• Collaborate with Distribution Network Operators (DNOs) and Transmission Owners (TOs) on grid connection applications and technical queries.
• Provide technical expertise and support to project development, design, and construction teams.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to grid integration and power quality.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline with a strong focus on power systems.
• Proven experience (4+ years) in grid integration , power system analysis, or substation design.
• Proficiency with power system simulation software such as PSS/E, PowerFactory DIgSILENT, or PSCAD.
• Good understanding of renewable energy technologies (solar PV, wind, battery energy storage systems).
• Familiarity with UK grid connection requirements and relevant standards.
