About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and reliable Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Technician to join their dynamic operations team in Leeds . This role is essential for ensuring the smooth and safe operation of all ground support equipment necessary for aircraft handling and turnaround. You will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and servicing of a wide range of GSE, including baggage tractors, belt loaders, aircraft stairs, and pushback tugs. This is a hands-on role for an individual who thrives in a fast-paced operational environment and is committed to maintaining equipment reliability in the bustling Leeds aviation hub.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and diagnostic checks on various types of ground support equipment.
• Repair and service GSE components, including engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and braking systems.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and perform on-the-spot repairs to minimize downtime.
• Maintain accurate service records and inventory of parts and consumables for GSE.
• Ensure all GSE operations and maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and company procedures.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a GSE Technician or a similar mechanical maintenance role, ideally within the aviation industry.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in diesel and gasoline engine repair, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
• Ability to diagnose faults and perform complex repairs efficiently.
• Familiarity with safety procedures related to heavy equipment operation and maintenance in Leeds .
