About the Role
Our client is looking for a practical and reliable Ground Support Equipment Technician to maintain their fleet of essential aviation support vehicles and equipment in Plymouth . This role is critical for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of airport services, focusing on the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of a wide range of GSE, including tugs, belt loaders, and de-icing equipment. You will be part of a vital operations support team, working in a dynamic airport environment where your mechanical skills directly contribute to flight schedules.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs on all types of Ground Support Equipment (GSE) .
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues with GSE.
- Maintain accurate service and repair records for all equipment.
- Ensure all GSE meets safety standards and operational requirements for airport use.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and provide timely repairs to minimize operational delays.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Mechanic , preferably with experience on heavy machinery or ground support equipment.
- Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical diagnostic skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- A proactive approach to maintenance and problem-solving.
- Valid driving license and ability to obtain airport security clearance.
