About the Role

Our client is looking for an experienced and driven Gym Manager to lead their bustling fitness facility in Portsmouth . You will be responsible for the overall management of the gym, including staff leadership, operational efficiency, member satisfaction, and financial performance. This is a crucial role that requires a strong understanding of the fitness industry, excellent leadership capabilities, and a commitment to creating a positive and motivating environment for both staff and members. You will play a pivotal role in driving growth and ensuring the gym remains a leading fitness destination.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all day-to-day gym operations, ensuring high standards of service and safety.
• Recruit, train, manage, and motivate a team of fitness professionals and support staff.
• Develop and implement strategies to increase membership sales, retention, and ancillary revenue.
• Manage gym budgets, control expenses, and drive profitability.
• Ensure all facilities and equipment are maintained to the highest standards.
• Develop and implement marketing and promotional activities to attract new members.
• Maintain excellent relationships with members, addressing feedback and resolving issues effectively.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a gym management or senior fitness role.
• Strong understanding of fitness industry trends, operations, and sales strategies.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and customer service skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and drive financial performance.
• Experience in staff management and development.
• Relevant fitness qualifications (e.g., Level 3 Personal Training) are highly desirable.
