Duration: Minimum 6 weeks (potentially up to 3 months)

Hours: Full Time

The Supply Register is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of Northumberland College for a Lecturer & Programme Lead in Hairdressing .

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Hairdressing Lecturer or industry professional with a teaching qualification to join a supportive Further Education team, delivering high-quality teaching and supporting learners to achieve their full potential.

The role will be primarily based at the Ashington Campus , however regular travel to the Berwick Campus will be required . As Berwick is located in the north of Northumberland, applicants must be willing and able to travel between campuses and have access to reliable transport .

The position is due to start on 1st September and will initially run for a minimum of six weeks , with the potential to continue for up to three months , covering a phased return for a member of staff.

The Role

As a Lecturer & Programme Lead in Hairdressing , you will:

• Deliver engaging practical and theoretical Hairdressing lessons
• Support learners to develop industry-standard skills and knowledge
• Plan, prepare and assess learning in line with awarding body requirements
• Monitor learner progress and provide constructive feedback
• Maintain a safe, inclusive and inspiring learning environment
• Support the wider curriculum team to ensure excellent learner outcomes

We're Looking For

To be considered, you will have:

• Level 3 qualification (or above) in Hairdressing
• Level 4 teaching qualification (or above) (essential)
• Level 2 English and Maths (or equivalent)
• Previous teaching or training experience within Hairdressing
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• The ability to travel regularly to both the Ashington and Berwick campuses
