About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Head Coach for Rowing to lead their established rowing program in Edinburgh . This key position involves overseeing all aspects of the team's training, development, and performance, from junior to elite levels. The Head Coach will be responsible for creating a winning culture, implementing effective coaching strategies, and nurturing athlete potential while upholding the club's values of teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive rowing training program tailored to different age groups and competitive levels.
- Lead and conduct on-water and land-based training sessions, focusing on technique, endurance, and strength.
- Recruit, mentor, and manage assistant coaches and support staff, fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Oversee athlete selection, performance monitoring, and goal setting for individual and team success.
- Manage the rowing fleet and equipment, ensuring they are maintained to the highest standards and used safely.
- Represent the club at regattas, competitions, and relevant sporting forums, promoting the program effectively.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in coaching rowing at a high level, with a proven track record of success.
- Relevant coaching qualifications and certifications in rowing or a related sport science field.
- Strong knowledge of rowing technique, physiology, and training methodologies.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and motivational skills.
- Experience in athlete recruitment, talent identification, and program management.
- Ability to manage budgets and resources effectively for the rowing program.
