Head of Claims - Remote

About the Role

Our client is seeking a strategic and experienced leader to take on the role of Head of Claims , operating entirely remotely. This senior position is responsible for the overall strategy, management, and performance of the claims function across the company. You will lead a distributed team of claims professionals, ensuring efficient, fair, and timely claims handling that aligns with business objectives and regulatory requirements. This is a critical leadership role focused on driving excellence in claims service, managing costs, and enhancing customer satisfaction for policyholders nationwide.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the overall claims strategy, setting objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs) for the claims department.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing, remote-based claims team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
• Oversee the end-to-end claims process, ensuring efficient and equitable settlement of claims in line with policy terms and conditions.
• Manage claims budgets and expenses, identifying opportunities for cost savings without compromising service quality.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements governing claims handling.
• Analyze claims data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for process enhancements and fraud prevention initiatives.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in managing claims operations, with a significant portion in a leadership capacity.
• Proven ability to lead and manage geographically dispersed teams effectively.
• Deep understanding of insurance claims processes, best practices, and relevant legislation.
