About the Role

Our client, a highly regarded multi-sport academy in Derby , is seeking an experienced and dedicated Head of Coaching to lead their youth development programs across various disciplines. This senior position is responsible for establishing and maintaining a high-quality coaching framework, ensuring the holistic development of young athletes. You will oversee a team of specialist coaches, curriculum development, and athlete welfare, fostering a positive and progressive learning environment in Derbyshire . The ideal candidate will have a strong background in youth sports development, exceptional leadership qualities, and a commitment to nurturing talent while promoting values of sportsmanship, discipline, and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive coaching philosophy and curriculum for youth athletes across multiple sports.
• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of specialist coaches, providing ongoing training and performance feedback.
• Oversee athlete recruitment, assessment, and progression pathways within the academy.
• Ensure the highest standards of athlete welfare, safety, and safeguarding are maintained at all times.
• Collaborate with parents, athletes, and academy management to foster a supportive and effective development environment.
• Monitor coaching effectiveness and athlete progress, implementing strategies for continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Minimum of 6 years of experience in coaching and managing youth sports development programs.
• Recognized coaching qualifications and a deep understanding of child development principles.
• Proven experience in leading and developing a team of coaches.
• Strong knowledge of effective training methodologies across different sports.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
