Youth Football Academy Coach

About the Role

Our client is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Youth Football Academy Coach to join their academy in Derby . This role focuses on developing young talent, nurturing their skills, and instilling a passion for the game within a structured academy environment. Operating in a hybrid capacity, you will lead training sessions, manage match days, and provide ongoing support and guidance to players aged 16-18. The ideal candidate will possess strong coaching acumen, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to player welfare and development, contributing to a positive and growth-oriented atmosphere within the academy.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high-quality football training sessions tailored to the development needs of young players.
• Manage and coach a designated age group team during matches and tournaments.
• Provide constructive feedback and individual development plans for players.
• Foster a positive, disciplined, and enjoyable learning environment.
• Communicate effectively with players, parents, academy staff, and management.
• Ensure adherence to all safeguarding, child protection, and health & safety policies.

Requirements

• Relevant coaching qualifications (e.g., FA Level 2 or equivalent) are essential.
• Previous experience coaching youth football, preferably within an academy setting.
• Strong understanding of player development principles and age-appropriate training methodologies.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid role, balancing on-field coaching with administrative tasks.
• Passion for youth development and a commitment to player well-being.
