Head of CRM & Lifecycle Marketing

Head of CRM & Lifecycle Marketing

Location: UK-based, flexible working

Salary: £90,000–£120,000 + generous performance bonus

Reporting to: Marketing Director

About Us - We are the clear market leader in our sector and one of the fastest-growing car buying companies in the world. In the UK, we generate over 120,000 customer enquiries each month and purchase tens of thousands of vehicles. We have also successfully launched in the United States, with ambitious plans to scale nationwide.

We are a highly profitable, established business with the pace, ambition and freedom of a startup. Our goal is to build a billion-dollar business within the next 5 years.

The Opportunity - Every month, tens of thousands of potential customers interact with our brands. While many convert immediately, others need further nurturing, follow-up or re-engagement. There are also significant opportunities to generate additional revenue through relevant affiliate and partner services.

We are looking for an exceptional Head of CRM & Lifecycle Marketing to take ownership of these opportunities and maximise the commercial value of every customer enquiry.

This is a high-impact role with significant freedom to develop and implement your own strategy, backed by substantial existing lead volumes, established marketing resources and a business willing to invest in ideas that deliver measurable results.

As we scale, an immediate focus of this role will be auditing our current setup and leading the transition toward an enterprise marketing automation platform.

The Role - You will take ownership of our CRM and customer lifecycle strategy, developing automated, personalised journeys that improve conversion, reactivation and customer monetisation.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Lead nurturing: Develop automated journeys that maximise conversion from initial enquiry through to booking, including customers who do not convert through our existing sales processes.

• CRM automation & infrastructure: Lead the selection, integration, and deployment of a modern enterprise CRM platform, moving our current setup from developer-focused email delivery to sophisticated, multi-channel user journeys.

• Reactivation: Identify opportunities to re-engage unconverted, cancelled and historic leads to generate additional bookings and revenue.

• Affiliate monetisation: Develop customer journeys that generate additional revenue through relevant third-party products and services, including vehicle purchasing, finance and other opportunities.

• Segmentation and personalisation: Use customer behaviour, intent and data to deliver highly targeted communications.

• AI and innovation: Identify and implement AI-driven solutions to improve personalisation, automation, efficiency and commercial performance.

• Testing and optimisation: Continuously test different approaches, using control groups and clear commercial metrics to demonstrate incremental value.

• CRM strategy: Evaluate existing systems, identify gaps and recommend improvements to our technology, data and communication capabilities.

You will initially operate as a hands-on specialist, supported by our wider marketing team, including CRO, paid media and technical resources. As the opportunity develops, there will be scope to build a dedicated team.

About You - We are looking for an exceptional, commercially minded CRM specialist with a proven record of delivering significant, measurable improvements.

You should have:

• Extensive experience in CRM, lifecycle marketing, marketing automation or lead nurturing, ideally at Head of CRM or equivalent level.

• A proven track record of increasing conversion, revenue and customer value through automated communications.

• Strong hands-on experience with sophisticated CRM platforms, customer segmentation and multichannel automation.

• Experience working with substantial customer databases and high lead volumes.

• Excellent analytical skills and a rigorous approach to experimentation, attribution and measuring incremental revenue.

• The ability to develop strategy while remaining comfortable implementing and optimising campaigns yourself.

• A strong understanding of emerging AI capabilities and how they can improve CRM performance.

• The commercial judgement to identify and prioritise opportunities with the greatest potential return.

Experience in automotive, comparison websites, financial services, insurance, lead generation or other high-volume consumer businesses would be particularly valuable.

We are more interested in what you have achieved than the specific platforms you have used.

Why Join Us?

• Exceptional commercial opportunity: Work with an established customer enquiry volume that provides enormous scope for optimisation and growth.

• Real ownership: Take responsibility for an important growth function with the freedom to shape its strategy and execution.

• Significant resources: Access an experienced marketing team, technical support and investment to implement successful ideas.

• Direct impact: Your work will have a measurable influence on revenue and profitability.

• Career progression: Build a function from the ground up, with the potential to develop your own team as the business scales.

• Strong remuneration: Competitive basic salary and a generous performance bonus linked to results.

The Opportunity to Make a Difference - This is not a role focused simply on sending campaigns or managing a CRM database.

We want someone who sees the commercial opportunity in every customer interaction, understands how to turn that opportunity into measurable revenue and has the technical expertise and drive to make it happen.

If you have already delivered exceptional results in CRM and lifecycle marketing and want the freedom to make a substantial impact, we would love to hear from you.
