Key Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and inspire the English department, setting clear strategic goals and performance standards.
• Oversee the development and delivery of an engaging and rigorous English curriculum for Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
• Conduct regular performance reviews for departmental staff and support their professional development.
• Monitor student progress in English, analyse data, and implement strategies to drive improvement.
• Manage the department's budget, resources, and timetable effectively.

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with significant experience teaching English at secondary level.
• Demonstrated leadership experience within an educational setting, preferably as a Head of Department or Second in Charge.
• Exceptional knowledge of English literature, language, and pedagogy across all key stages.
• Strong strategic planning, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to inspire and motivate both students and staff.
