About the Role

Our client is seeking a visionary and experienced educator to take on the role of Head of Department for Science at a progressive secondary school in Stoke-on-Trent . Key Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and develop the Science department to achieve high standards of teaching and learning.
• Oversee the curriculum design and delivery for all science subjects across key stages.
• Support, mentor, and appraise members of the science teaching staff.
• Monitor student progress in science and implement strategies to improve outcomes.
• Manage the department's budget and resources effectively.

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in a relevant science subject.
• Significant experience teaching science at the secondary level, with some leadership experience.
• Strong understanding of science education best practices and curriculum development.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
• Ability to inspire and motivate both students and staff.
