About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and inspire the Science department staff, promoting professional growth and collaboration.
• Oversee the development, implementation, and review of the Science curriculum, ensuring it is engaging, relevant, and meets all statutory requirements.
• Maintain high standards of teaching and learning within the department through effective monitoring, feedback, and professional development.

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognized teaching qualification.
• A strong academic background in a scientific discipline, with a postgraduate degree being advantageous.
• Significant experience teaching Science at secondary level, with proven experience in a leadership or management role.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team of teachers effectively.
• Comprehensive understanding of curriculum development, assessment strategies, and quality assurance in science education.
