About the Role

Our client is looking for a visionary Head of Digital Sports Content to lead their content strategy and execution in the rapidly evolving Leisure & Sports landscape. This is a fully remote leadership role, responsible for developing and managing a comprehensive digital content portfolio that engages audiences across multiple platforms. You will define the editorial voice, oversee content creation, and drive audience growth through compelling narratives and innovative digital experiences. The ideal candidate is a seasoned content strategist with a passion for sports, excellent leadership skills, and a proven ability to manage a remote team in a fast-paced digital environment, shaping the online presence of our client.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a global digital content strategy across website, social media, video, and emerging platforms.
• Lead, mentor, and inspire a remote team of content creators, editors, and social media managers.
• Oversee the creation of high-quality, engaging, and SEO-optimized sports-related content.
• Define key content performance indicators (KPIs) and analyze data to optimize content strategy and audience engagement.
• Manage the content budget and allocate resources effectively to achieve strategic goals.
• Cultivate strong relationships with sports journalists, influencers, and content partners.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in digital content creation and strategy, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, preferably within the Leisure & Sports industry .
• Proven success in developing and managing successful digital content strategies that drive audience growth and engagement.
• Exceptional editorial judgment, writing, and editing skills.
• Strong understanding of SEO, social media marketing, content management systems (CMS), and analytics tools.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage remote teams effectively in a deadline-driven environment.
