About the Role

Our client is looking for a strategic and experienced leader to fill the position of Head of Energy Trading Operations . This is a fully remote role, offering the opportunity to lead a critical function from anywhere in the world. You will be responsible for the oversight and optimization of all operational aspects supporting the company's energy trading activities. This includes managing trade processing, settlements, risk control systems, and ensuring regulatory compliance across global markets. Your leadership will be key to enhancing efficiency, mitigating operational risks, and supporting the growth of our client's trading business in the competitive energy sector .

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the global energy trading operations team, fostering a high-performance culture.
• Oversee the end-to-end trade lifecycle, including confirmation, settlement, and reconciliation.
• Implement and maintain robust operational risk management frameworks and controls.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant energy market regulations and reporting requirements.
• Collaborate with front office, risk, IT, and compliance departments to streamline processes and systems.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in energy trading operations , with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Deep understanding of commodity trading, settlement processes, and operational risk management.
• Proven ability to manage complex, global operations in a fast-paced trading environment.
• Expertise in relevant regulatory frameworks (e.g., MiFID II, REMIT).
• Exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, and communication skills, suited for a remote-first setup.
