About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and dynamic educational leader to take on the role of Head of Modern Foreign Languages at a reputable secondary school in Reading . This is a leadership position responsible for overseeing the MFL department, driving pedagogical innovation, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality language education across all key stages. You will lead a team of dedicated language teachers, foster a passion for languages among students, and contribute significantly to the school's academic excellence. Key Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and inspire the Modern Foreign Languages department, fostering a collaborative and high-achieving team environment.
• Develop and implement a strategic vision for language education that aligns with school objectives and promotes student engagement.
• Oversee the curriculum, ensuring it is challenging, relevant, and prepares students effectively for examinations and future studies.
• Monitor teaching and learning within the department, providing coaching, mentorship, and professional development opportunities for staff.

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a specialisation in a Modern Foreign Language.
• Significant experience in teaching languages at secondary level, with proven leadership or management experience.
• A deep understanding of language acquisition methodologies and curriculum development.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
• Demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate both students and staff.
