Head of Sales / Head of Business Development

Head of Sales / Head of Business Development - Power & Utilities

Salary: Six-Figure Basic Salary + Circa £200,000 OTE + Uncapped Commission

Location: Fully Remote / UK-Wide

Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Are you an experienced sales leader within the power and utilities sector looking for an opportunity to make a genuine impact, drive significant growth and be rewarded for your success?

We're working with an ambitious, rapidly expanding business within the UK power and utilities infrastructure market, looking to appoint a Head of Sales / Head of Business Development to play a pivotal role in its next phase of growth.

With an established customer base, a strong pipeline of opportunities and significant expansion plans, this is an opportunity to join a business with real momentum behind it.

The role offers a rare combination of hands-on business development, strategic influence and team leadership, alongside an exceptionally attractive earning potential.

The Opportunity

This isn't a traditional Head of Sales position focused purely on managing a team. The business is looking for someone who still thrives on winning new business, developing key relationships and securing major contracts.

You'll take responsibility for leading and developing an established Business Development team, while remaining actively involved in pursuing high-value opportunities across ICP/IDNO connections, HV/EHV infrastructure, industrial and commercial developments, renewables, EV charging and data centres.

Working closely with the senior leadership team, you'll have genuine autonomy to influence commercial strategy, identify new markets and play a key role in shaping the future direction of the business.

With plans to grow the sales function significantly, there's also an exciting opportunity to build and develop a high-performing team around you.

What Makes This Opportunity Attractive?

Exceptional earning potential: Six-figure basic salary, circa £200k OTE and uncapped commission, with substantial earning potential linked to securing high-value infrastructure contracts.

Significant growth opportunities: Join an established business with ambitious expansion plans and a strong pipeline of major infrastructure projects.

Genuine autonomy: Influence commercial strategy, develop new markets and play a key role in the business's future growth.

Leadership opportunity: Take responsibility for an established BD team, with plans to expand considerably.

Major project exposure: Work across some of the UK's most exciting electricity connections and energy infrastructure markets.

Fully remote working: UK-wide flexibility, with travel for key customer and team meetings.

Who Are We Looking For?

We're particularly interested in speaking with commercially driven sales professionals who have a strong background within the ICP/IDNO or UK electricity connections market.

You'll ideally have a proven track record of securing significant contracts, developing strong industry relationships and consistently delivering against ambitious sales targets.

Previous experience managing, leading or mentoring others is important, as the position involves developing an existing team alongside your own business development responsibilities.

This opportunity would suit an established Head of Sales, Sales Director or Head of Business Development, although an exceptional Senior Business Development Manager with leadership experience who is ready to take the next step would also be considered.

While direct ICP/IDNO experience is highly desirable, candidates from closely related power, energy and infrastructure markets with an outstanding commercial track record will also be considered.
