About the Role

Our client, a prominent aquatic centre in Plymouth , is seeking an accomplished and enthusiastic Head Swimming Coach to lead its competitive swimming program. This leadership role is responsible for developing and executing training strategies that foster swimmer development, enhance performance, and promote a positive team culture. You will oversee a team of assistant coaches, manage training schedules, and work closely with athletes and their families to achieve competitive goals. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive training plans for swimmers across all age groups and competitive levels.
• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of assistant swimming coaches, ensuring high-quality instruction.
• Oversee swimmer recruitment, retention, and individual performance development.
• Plan and attend swim meets, providing strategic guidance and support to athletes.
• Collaborate with parents and guardians to ensure clear communication regarding swimmer progress and club activities.
• Ensure adherence to all governing body rules and regulations, promoting fair play and sportsmanship.

Requirements

• Significant coaching experience with a proven track record of success in competitive swimming.
• Relevant coaching qualifications and certifications from a recognized swimming authority.
• Strong understanding of swimming techniques, training methodologies, and sports science principles.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and motivational skills.
• Ability to develop and implement effective long-term athlete development plans.
• Experience managing a coaching team and coordinating with aquatic facility staff.
