Head Swimming Coach

About the Role

Our client is seeking an inspirational and experienced Head Swimming Coach to lead their competitive swimming program in Newcastle upon Tyne . You will be responsible for developing and implementing training programs for swimmers of all levels, fostering a positive team culture, and driving performance to achieve competitive success. This role requires a deep understanding of swimming technique, sports science, and athlete development, coupled with strong leadership and motivational skills to guide athletes towards their full potential. You will work closely with club officials, parents, and athletes to promote the sport and ensure the program's growth and sustainability within the local community.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute comprehensive training plans tailored to different age groups and competitive levels.
• Coach swimmers during training sessions and at competitions , providing expert technical guidance and motivation.
• Recruit and retain talented swimmers, building a strong and cohesive team dynamic.
• Monitor athlete progress, implement strength and conditioning programs, and manage athlete well-being.
• Collaborate with club management on strategic planning, budget management, and program development.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of swimming rules, coaching methodologies, and sports science advancements.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a swimming coach , preferably at a head coach or senior assistant level.
• Relevant coaching certifications (e.g., Swim England Coach qualifications) and a strong understanding of aquatic sports.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective training programs for competitive swimmers.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in athlete recruitment and retention strategies.
• First Aid certification and safeguarding training are essential.
