About the Role

Our client is seeking a passionate and experienced Head Swimming Coach to lead their competitive swimming programme in Stoke-on-Trent . This key role involves developing and implementing effective training methodologies to nurture talent, improve performance, and foster a positive team spirit among swimmers of all ages and abilities. You will be responsible for the overall strategic direction of the swimming team, including squad management, athlete development, and coach mentorship, ensuring the programme continues its tradition of success and promotes a lifelong love of swimming within the community. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive training plans for competitive swimming squads, focusing on technique, strength, and conditioning.
• Lead and mentor assistant coaches, providing guidance and fostering a collaborative coaching environment.
• Manage squad selection, athlete progression, and performance analysis to optimize results.
• Organize and attend swim meets, competitions, and training camps, ensuring effective logistical planning.
• Promote a positive, inclusive, and disciplined team culture, encouraging sportsmanship and personal development.
• Liaise with parents, club committees, and facility management to ensure effective communication and operational support.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a successful swimming coach with a strong track record of developing athletes.
• Relevant coaching qualifications (e.g., Swim England Level 2 or equivalent).
• In-depth knowledge of swimming techniques, training principles, and sports science.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and motivational skills.
• Ability to manage budgets and contribute to strategic planning for the swimming programme.
• First Aid certification and safeguarding training are required.
